I like remembering that it was a poor and sloppy rag tag band of youngsters and old timers- old European ghosts and new Americans of the generation that exploded into nationhood. Unlike Spain, Britain, and France which took millennia to formulate. It was normal people who brought the worlds most powerful empire to its knees, and risked their lives for individual and economic freedoms.
