Rather than invest in the A9, HS2 and the newly announced HS3 we need to improve rail links to Inverness, Thurso, Ullapool and Fort William. And while were at it could someone explain the objection to A9 average speed cameras? If youre travelling within the speed limit they wont have any effect on your journey time. If youre not then you need to slow down! The chap who was arguing against them on Morning Call this morning seemed to be trying to say that they would slow everyone down while simultaneously arguing that you could only achieve 40 mph on the A9. Cant have it both ways. His style of argument made it pretty clear to me that he was a road-raging boy racer who couldnt even listen to anyone elses view.
