Rather than just weed out people sharing rubbish on Facebook, Im going to share a few actually useful things. Yesterday we had confirmation that the flight was very likely intentionally diverted (PM Najib stopped short of calling it a hijack) but if it DID head into the Indian Ocean, then it opens up a few possibilities again, all of which makes the situation more difficult. What people have to realise is that we are very bad at comprehending scale. Its easy enough to say that if a plane crashed or got blown up mid-air, wed detect it easily enough. And in many cases that may be true, but when you have a huge ocean in a more remote part of the world, detection becomes more difficult.
