Rather than rallying for individual people, while respectable - TopicsExpress

Rather than rallying for individual people, while respectable indeed, it would be great if every city could gather and research all victims of brutality and wrongful death by police that have occurred in their area, and even the surrounding suburbs. It would be great to protest for justice for all. Make a list and coordinating memes-- it will take time and be a lot of work, but it will be worth it as it will give us the opportunity to show folks the BIGGER PICTURE rather than having a discussion based on a few occurrences that the media literally CHOSE for the majority to be upset about. There are thousands of cases, and everyone deserves remembrance and justice. People are only going to focus on the widespread issue if they see the severity firsthand. Unfortunately, many people rely on the mainstream media for their information and dont want to take the initiative to research elsewhere on their own. Imagine if we all, collectively, presented #ALLlivesmatter and #JUSTICEforALL while allowing people to see WHY we are so upset -- not solely based on a few horrific cases, but the many hundreds of them. The problem is hardly exclusive or isolated, and by singling out the efforts to protest, this isnt becoming anymore apparent to those who werent already in the know prior to newfound mainstream acknowledgment. More so, and very importantly, this would solve the medias endless efforts to create division and perpetuate racism----- an effort that is clearly working. If people could only see that anyone, truly any one at all, can be (and have been) the victim of wrongful brutality and murder by police, perhaps the basis of conversation would change and the apologists would rethink their thought process. The reality is, race is irrelevant; men, women, and children of all ethnicities, the mentally ill, the disabled, and even the elderly have been wrongfully hurt and murdered by police in recent years. Fact. I, alone, certainly cannot advocate this to all of the upset populous but it would be awesome if we all did. I genuinely believe that this tactic would steer away from their agenda and that ultimately, the conversations being had the world over would be more productive.
