Raven and Crystal water work update: Great day of training today. We continue to work on the one little thing with Crystal and WRD (Water Resucue Dog - Senior Test). She pretty much aced everything except the life ring exercise. I went back to the tactic that worked with the "take a line" exercise from WD (Water Dog - Junior Test). She pulled off a very impressive double retrieve. As she was bringing in the life jacket, the cushion floated way out over 100 feet from shore, but she marked it, swam right for it and brought it back! It was awesome! She is also doing well jumping off the boat. I judge that from the dry head of hair on her head when she goes in. She is really getting back into that "military precision" form for the upcoming tests...just the way I like it! What I love about Crystal is she loves water work. She could literally do this stuff all day long. If there is any other dog that loves water work as much as Crystal than its Raven (aka Ravy Gravy!) who continues to improve by leaps and bounds every week! She has really turning into a well balanced dog and is channeling a lot of that crazy energy she has into water work/play. Last week she was really only proficient on single retrieve (the easiest of all the water routines). This week she added the drop retrieve and tow a boat exercise to the list! Even swim with handler was a major improvement (no scratches or trying to climb on me is always a plus). Still plenty of work ahead, but she is following in the giant footsteps of Aunt Crystal! Keep it up Ravy Gravy!!!
