Raw beetroot and ginger muesli: pink and crunchy: We sell a lot - TopicsExpress

Raw beetroot and ginger muesli: pink and crunchy: We sell a lot of muesli at Naturally Good Food. But we don’t sell anything else quite like this. This beautifully packaged raw beetroot and ginger muesli (the packet design would make lovely wallpaper) comes from Primrose’s Kitchen in Dorset. It’s won gold at tasting events over the past two years and is one of our newest products. The base of this muesli is gluten-free oats, with beetroot the next biggest ingredient, at 22% of weight. This is dried, raw beetroot, and is both sweet and earthy. I don’t like beetroot at all. But I like this. There’s no refined sugar: instead, it’s sweetened with agave nectar, and has added pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, virgin coconut oil, flaked almonds, linseed, coconut pieces, ginger, and milk thistle seed, for additional goodness, crunch and taste. It’s been slowly dehydrated at low temperatures to retain the highest possible nutritional values. It’s gluten- and dairy-free. And it’s simply wonderful: like a mouthful of a crisp, Spring day. The ginger gives it a bit of a ‘zing’, but one that comes in a little later than the other ingredients, making for a rather intriguing taste, which keeps you going back for more. It’s a light breakfast, but of course, secretly stuffed with all the vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that beetroot can boast, to say nothing of the goodness contained in all the seeds. Our tester was delighted to report that it also turns the milk pink! She recommends having it with plain, thick yoghurt, rather than milk, as this enables you to take a big scoop without having to do too much ‘jaw work’. From Primrose’s Kitchen, we also stock the raw carrot, apple and cinnamon muesli (also gluten- and dairy-free) – which we are just waiting to taste out! (And as well as trying out their products, we’d recommend that you take a good look at the Primrose Kitchen website, not least for its ‘pose of the month’ yoga position, featured in its blogs. Too few foodie blogs give adequate yoga instruction, in my experience.) And of course, we have a vast range of other muesli, which can be viewed here.
