Re: The car accident that claimed several lives of a local family Wednesday night and the aftermath. Note: This is NOT aimed at anyone in particular. Its some general comments about the situation and a response to the arguably (and, as usual, sensationalized) conservative comments that are ALL over Facebook. The officers were doing their job. As with any citation, there will be a hearing. The judges job is to then decide if the driver is guilty of anything. People get more heinous charges dismissed all the time...in far less extenuating circumstances. The sensationalism being created around this isnt serving to comfort those involved. Prayers and practical offers of help... cooking food, walking the dog, household chores, etc......THAT will provide more comfort to the family than open-mouthed shock and the perpetuating of sensationalized aspects of the story. Unless youre directly involved in this...and, by that, I mean that you know this family personally AND ARE CLOSE ENOUGH TO THEM THAT YOUVE HAD DIRECT CONTACT WITH THEM TODAY... then chill with the overzealousness. No one except those who were in that vehicle knows exactly what led up to the accident and most of those people arent here to answer all the questions. The young boy who CAN answer some of the questions is going through enough shit right now without having to deal with all the rumors and bullshit that are being perpetuated right now. THERE WILL BE A TELEVISED INTERVIEW. (UH. YEAH! EVERY NEWS CHANNEL IS DROOLING AT THE PROSPECT OF GETTING HIM ON CAMERA.Thats the way the media works.) Your questions will be answered then and your curiosity (which is , quite frankly, morbid and misaligned) will be rewarded. So, chill the hell out. You dont need all the grisly details right now!!! (No, contrary to WANTING to know what happened, you dont NEED to know.) So, have some respect for the familys privacy and stop listening to the damn media. They dont know anything more than you do. The only difference is that they have a bigger audience, bigger mouths, and more bullshit to spew.
