Re: The missing North Bondi girl who turned up safe yesterday. Am I the only person whos a bit uncomfortable with the media frenzy? Do we need to see photos of her going to school today? Do we need to see videos of her on some ride, or at her school fair last year? Do we need to see her singing in a school activity? Do we need to know her home address? Or which block of units the stranger lives in? Do we need to know about her Fathers court date for this month in an unrelated matter? Do we need to know what the argument with her parents was about? Do we need to know what she ate? Do we need to know what clothes she was wearing when she went home? Do we need to know that her father said she wouldnt be home that night so she could avoid the media waiting in the street only for the next sentence in that report to describe how she was brought home shortly after that statement and snuck in the back door? Do we need to know the person whos flat she stayed at had an ambulance attend his home after he was released without charge? Do we need to open the comments on such an article to allow people to ponder their own versions of what they believe happened, completely unburdened by facts? I get the feeling the press were expecting something much more sinister to report on. I like to think theyre not disappointed in the safely boring outcome of this.
