Re-polling: Independent candidate wins from NA-46" PESHAWAR: Independent candidate Nasir Khan Afridi emerged victor with 4,028 votes against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s Iqbal Afridi who bagged 3,547 votes after re-polling was conducted at 21 polling stations in NA-46 Bara. Briefing the journalists APA Bara tehsil and presiding officer Nasir Khan said that former federal minister Hameedullah Jan Afridi faced defeat after he managed to get only 3,269 votes. Interestingly only 19 women across the 21 polling stations cast their votes, Khan added. The official claimed that there was no sense of insecurity among the voters who came out to vote on Wednesday. Though the voter turnout was considerably low in the morning it picked up as the day progressed. The political administration has imposed a day’s ban on the movement of Nato containers through Khyber Agency due to the polling. However, general transport was allowed from both sides of the Torkham border.
