Re-post, showcase film opportunity for actors and musicians from the awesome Matt Wells straightkillfilms : Hey you too. I hope everything is wonderful in your world. I wanted to extend an opportunity to all your classes: Im making a movie with Matthew Bennett (Orphan Black, Battlestar Galactica). Its about underground dice games in St. Jamestown and will be filmed in St. Jamestown next June. Last week we launched an online audition and music submission casting call to give unheard actors and musicians a chance to not only be considered for the film but to showcase their work. We select submissions every week to profile on our site and are promoting them via social media. No agent or stacked resume needed. Its hard enough to get in the room with those things as it is as we all know, so we are trying to level the playing field a little. Weve gotten some national press exposure and its starting to snowball. The response has been pretty overwhelming so far and some of the submissions are pretty incredible not just in talent but courage for first time actors sending in their work. Feels like the sort of under the radar artist support I was part of when I worked on Going Coastal (my 1st Much Music show) and the more submissions we get the more I realize how important it is to give those unheard voices a voice.....its also an interesting way to build an audience for a film before we go to camera-by promoting peoples work.
