Re-sharing... For my relatives who grieve for the loss of our beloved Tatang. Sadness is inevitable when a loved one passes away. We all feel sad because of the thought that we will never see them smile again, we will never hear their words again, they will not see our achievements, they will not be there in the future occasions to come. But looking at death at a different perspective would somehow lessen the sadness that we feel. As sadness is inevitable, death is also inevitable. We all know that we will die. Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they shall die; but the dead do not know anything... Death is appointed by God. Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed to men once to die, but after this the judgment... It is only God who can take away the life that He gave. Deuteronomy 32:39 See now that I, I am He, and there is no god with me. I kill, and I make alive; I wound and I heal; and there is no deliverer out of My hand. All souls are in the hands or power of the Father. Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. We have no power over death. Ecclesiastes 8:8 There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death... No man will die unless it was permitted by the Father. Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Fathers care. Luke 12:7 But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Therefore do not fear, you are of more value than many sparrows. God is a God of love and compassion. He is a God of wisdom. There is wisdom in everything that He does and permits. Death is Gods way to save a righteous man from the evil that is to come. Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come. And to God, death is not the end. In fact, the bible calls death as sleep or rest. Psalms 13:3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death... If death is only a sleep, then time will come when the dead will be woke up. The dead will be ressurected according to the bible. John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have practiced evil to the resurrection of condemnation. Death is a message to us living that we will be facing it also in the future. We must prepare for it. We are all Gods creations so we must do His will before our time comes. We should know and acknowledge that our duty as man is not just to eat, drink, be happy in this life then die. The whole duty of man is to obey the commandments of God. Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter. Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man. In our remaining days, we should strive to know Gods commandments and keep them until the hour of our death. We do not know what the future will bring. The nearest future is tommorow and we dont know what will happen tommorow. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Life is short. Life will end. These are the messages of death that we should learn. We have to be good in the eyes of the Lord (not in the eyes of men only) so that when the time of the return of the Lord comes or when the time of judgement comes, we will all be saved and will see each other in eternal happiness Godwilling.
