Re-watching, among other things (!?!), the original Battlestar Galactica and realized that the opening credits are actually really quite cool. It is narrated by Patrick Macnee (of The Avengers fame)--Lorne Green did the end credits. The original pilot also starred Ray Milland as Sire Uri (he was, at one time, one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood and starred in some great films: Reap the Wild Wind, The Lost Weekend, and as Dr. James Xavier (not that Xavier!) in X: The Man with X-Ray Eyes). Ive been pleasantly surprised that this show aged so well--its not perfect and sometimes cheesy, but, hey, it aired 37 years ago! The pilot episode, remember this is 1978, had a budget of 7 million..!! Although definitely cheesy, I love the playful use of language: frack was introduced in this earlier series, but words like felgergarb and golmonging....cmon!?!
