Re-working our definitions of beauty: Theres a girl in my class - TopicsExpress

Re-working our definitions of beauty: Theres a girl in my class who doesnt seem to possess the characteristics of what the world would term beautiful. She doesnt have a pointed nose, long eye lashes, great eyes, a fantastic body, or all those external things that seem to add up to someone being beautiful or pretty. I looked at this girl for a long time yesterday and thought to myself wow, this babe is beyond gorgeous! Ill tell you why: Beneath her rather ghastly weave, she has the most beautiful, sunny and expressive smile Ive EVER seen; and she is SO generous with it! Every time we talk, there is always laughter in her voice. Shes like a yellow sunflower in a sea of weeds. She exudes so much energy and positivity that it doesnt matter at all that she doesnt wear earrings or makeup, or that her dress sense needs some work. Shes such a warm, open, giving spirit, that all that stuff pales in comparison to the remarkable gift that she truly is. I think shes beautiful. I think beauty that is just external is not very useful or valuable. But hey, what do I know? This might be me being my usual idealistic self. 😜😜
