Reach Out In Grace And Be Remembered Matthew 26:13, KJV {26:13}Verily I say unto you, Wheresoever this gospel shall be preached in the whole world, there shall also this, that this woman hath done, be told for a memorial of her. (KJV) Not many people are remembered throughout history. Countless people without number have died, without much being said or remembered about them. But Jesus, not wanting this woman to be like them, said basically, “Wherever the gospel of grace is preached, this most gracious act, done unto Me, by this woman shall be surely spoken of.” Today, we remember grace preachers like Charles Spurgeon and Martin Luther; but not much is said about the others (legalistic law preachers). Many have preached a phony, false, unsound and unscriptural gospel (message of grace), or law and grace mixed together or licentious grace; and not much is remembered about them, and rightly so. This woman can be likened to the Church of Jesus Christ today, who are not afraid to spend lavishly on Jesus. Sure people might says, “For this ointment might have been sold for much, and given to the poor.” (Matthew 26:9) Or “What a waste of money, all this money to host this gospel crusade, and only a few people were saved.” But to Jesus, it’s done in honour of His death and all that He did for us at Calvary. This to Him is most valuable and surely worth remembering. Beloved, if you empty your heart of the precious grace that the Holy Spirit has deposited there, Jesus will make sure that more grace flows to you in abundance. His loving grace towards you has no limit. Publish the message of Grace with boldness and here Jesus say to you, “She (He) has wrought a good work upon Me…For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did [it] for my burial.” (Matthew 26:10b, 12) The goodnews of forgiveness and grace is the body of Jesus! Look closely, there is this phrase Jesus said, “wherever this gospel” (Matthew 26:13) with seeming no reference to what it is. Until we see, “an alabaster box of very precious ointment” (Matthew 26:7). I believe the gospel is liken unto this, surely in this context anyway (Matthew 26:6-13). The strange thing that you might see beloved, is that it was the disciples who called this extravagant spending on Jesus a waste. Don’t be surprised if church folks today say the same. Nevertheless, when lives are saved, their will be an eternal memorial of souls kept in heaven by God to remember your act of grace. Reach out in grace and be remembered by Jesus therefore, for all times and eternity. Amen! Shalom!
