Read Isaiah Chapter 57 God never changes. The way of following - TopicsExpress

Read Isaiah Chapter 57 God never changes. The way of following Him never changes. Some people follow every new fad, looking for the religion that is right for them. They don’t like what God has to say about this or that. They assume that following Him means this or that, so they change Him and create their own gods and their own religion. They say, “My god would never send someone to Hell.” Really? Your god doesn’t give people the freedom to choose, and punish the wicked? Your god doesn’t care about justice? Well, the One True Living God does and if you worship anyone but Him, He will let you go to Hell. It’s your choice. Are you in a relationship with The LORD? Or are you worshipping a god of your own creation? Or maybe you are into the latest religious fad. You adopt the beliefs and practices from whatever religion looks good now. Isn’t it clear when you do that, you are making it up? Do you think because you can’t see the Lord of lords with your own eyes, He is not real? Do you think because He isn’t coming down burning with anger at the evil people of the world that He doesn’t exist? Be glad that He is withholding His judgment. Be glad He is patiently and lovingly waiting. Verses 11-13 read, “Whom did you dread and fear, so that you lied, and did not remember me, did not lay it to heart? Have I not held my peace, even for a long time, and you do not fear me? 12 I will declare your righteousness and your deeds, but they will not profit you. 13 When you cry out, let your collection of idols deliver you! The wind will carry them all off, a breath will take them away. But he who takes refuge in me shall possess the land and shall inherit my holy mountain.” All the good deeds you do in the name of your religion or in your own name mean nothing. You can feed every starving child in the world, cure cancer, and end poverty, and it will not help you. Only a relationship with the One True God through faith in Jesus Christ can make you righteous enough to enter Heaven. None of your good deeds can undo a single bad deed. Only Jesus can wipe away every wrong. Your gods can’t save you. Your good deeds can’t save you. But The King of kings can. Call out to Jesus and you are saved. You enter into His rest. You enter His worship and joy, not because of all the all your ceremonies, rites, or endeavors, but because of His love, power, and sovereignty. Can you humble yourself enough to call on Jesus? Can you grasp that you can never be good enough to be good? Go ahead and tell me about all the evil Christians out there. We are bad. We are just as bad as anyone else in the world. We don’t think we’re better than anyone else. We know we’re bad. The difference is simply this. The Christian submits themselves to God, obeys Him, worships, Him and follows Him. The Holy Spirit enters us and changes us. He removes all the gunk and junk of evil and heals us to become like Jesus. We are not better than the world. We are forgiven. We are at peace with God. Verses 18-19 describe it this way, “I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners, 19 creating the fruit of the lips. Peace, peace, to the far and to the near,” says the Lord, “and I will heal him.” Are you following the LORD or are you following a god of your own making? Are you trying to earn Heaven by your own merit or have you accepted the gift of salvation by Jesus’ blood?
