Read Jeremiah 1:4-10 Verse 5. ”Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.” It’s an amazing thing to remember and try to comprehend that the Lord exists outside of time constraints and He is in all times at the same time. “And before you were born I consecrated you” And we thought it was our decision to accept Christ. Yes it was, yet the Lord knew who would respond to His love. To consecrate is to dedicate to a sacred purpose. That’s why the Lord does not immediately take us to heaven after we’re saved. The Lord has a sacred purpose for each of us to fulfill. The Lord has appointed you to _________ . I left a blank because it’s a unique purpose for you. I don’t know the Lord’s purpose for you, but you probably do. For Jeremiah the Lord appointed him to be a prophet to the nations. How did Jeremiah respond? Verse 6 “Alas, Lord God! Behold I do not know how to speak, because I am a youth.” What’s our excuse? We can all come up with several excuses to not do what the Lord consecrated us for. This is where we discount ourselves, based on past experiences, someone elses estimation of our inabilities, and our own insecurities. But GOD is the One working in and through these broken vessels. Amen. It’s so much more up to God than up to us! It’s not “I can do all things”, that’s humanism, but it’s “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 Put on the Lord Jesus Christ, put on a heart of faith in God, and step out in faith to do what the Lord has called us to do! It’s human nature to see ourselves as inadequate for greater things, and to think the other guy is far more gifted and able to accomplish than we are. So what are great things? Whatever the Lord has consecrated us to do! We tend to compare ourselves with others. The enemy would love to have us take on a “great” task that the Lord has not asked us to do, and then fail! But look what Jesus said. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.” John 14:12-14 NASB I hope the power of Christ’s words makes us stand up and shout Hallelujah! youtube/watch?v=F6oxXwRWFTo Overwhelmed by Big Daddy Weave lyrics https://youtube/watch?v=4L7WgrJNiAw&feature=youtu.be Deluge - Worshiping You
