Read This and Cringe at the Vicious Cruelty and Stupidity A few days ago, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, population about 750,00, a male who was 107 years old named Monroe Isadore was holed up in the bedroom of a rural house with a hand gun which he had allegedly violently discharged in anger at someone, and the bullet missed and nobody was hurt (he was a bad shot even in his younger days). So the Pine Bluff police got called. Squads of "officers" responded, including a SWAT team in heavy armor and masks. There were two trucks of gasses and stunning devices, hundreds of bullet proof vests, visors, shields, dogs, robots and some secret stun guns that are available but almost never are publically deployed. Inside his locked room, the 107 year old man refused to talk and refused to open the door to his room. So the clever and over-equipped police deployed a semi-secret camera-on-a-string that can wiggle under a door and look around to see what’s in the room. It looked like there was one gun. There was now alleged proof that the man inside was armed and therefore all hell could legally break loose. A canister of nasty noxious gas was pumped into the room, and the 107 year old man cussed and coughed, but he refused to come out with his hands up. The minds of the police got together and said, “We’ll go in with a concussion grenade and a phosphorous eye blinder.” In the roar of the bomb and the stink of the gas and the violent starburst of the blinding light, the 107 year old man allegedly fired a shot at the “officers” who were storming into his room, and they made Swiss cheese of him in a heartbeat. Pine Bluff police say the town has “a crime problem.” The place is overrun with 107 year olds posing a deadly threat to the population. Or do they have a police problem. What good policeman would not say, “He’s 107 years old, God’s sake! Go home. A few of us will just wait him out.” Or better yet, says Georgia country lawyer Edwin Marger, “I’d have sent in an 18-year-old girl.”
