There is the constant stream of numerous species of birds to our feeder in the backyard. There is the occasional deer and the wild turkeys will come around from time to time. There are also a few hawks around the area that we can see flying about occasionally as they look for prey. Sometimes these hawks will even land in our backyard, giving us a rare chance to observe them in detail. One great source of amusement is the squirrels. They will sometimes come raid the bird feeder, displaying their great acrobatic skills in the process, often hanging upside down by their back feet and then pulling the bird feed out with their hands. Moreover, they provide great entertainment when our dog, a border-collie and Australian shepherd mix, will chase after the squirrels, apparently believing…………….
