Read and give feedback. my shortest and newest chapter :) Chapter X The Real Trap It was midnight, on the second day after Kerin and Dythoc were at the beginning of the mile-long tunnel leading to Rykhamet. The walls of this tunnel were stained dark red, helping the ignorant understand why this place was called the Bloodlands. The only light was the magelight Kerin was using. Dythoc had a battleaxe in one hand and a ball of lightning in the other. Every few feet he would check for traps. Kerin was walking behind, reading scratch marks on the walls. Some were scrawled in blood. STAY BACK KEEP AWAY YOU WILL DIE HERE DO NOT LET IT CONTROL YOU That was when he got the message and stopped reading. Dythoc saw the end of the tunnel. A man who looked like he hadn’t eaten, drank, or slept in days was raving. “I have it… I have it… I can get back at them for all they’ve ever done to me… They will regret it… They will regret it… They will beg for forgiveness… But it will not be given to them… Never... No… Never…” Dythoc walked up to the man and saw that his clothing was in tatters, and that he was holding Rykhamet. The man saw him. “Never.... No… Never… I won’t let you take it away from me...Never...I will have my revenge…” The man stabbed his own arm with Rykhamet, and then Dythoc cried out in pain and dropped the axe. As he lifted Rykhemet again, Dythoc lifted the axe and cleaved through the back of the man’s head. Kerin retrieved the dagger and hoped they would not become monsters.
