Read my lips: marketing and branding do not necessarily equal slogans and overt promotional videos. (Our city just received a report that recommended creating a robust marketing strategy, so Im a little sensitive right now.) A down-at-the-heels town near where I grew up went through an ill-fated exercise where they ended up with a slew of banners in their strip-mall-y downtown that read, A Nice Place To Live!
