Read today of a case of VIRAL meningitis in a PreK student from Bartlesville. Cannot prevent viral meningitis. In almost all cases not as serious as bacterial meningitis. If your child is a patient in my practice they have been vaccinated against the bacteria that can cause bacterial meningitis. However for non vaccinators this should be a time to pause and go hmmmm. Yes- this is only viral not bacterial but what if--why am I risking my childs health. Great question. Anyone who is exposed to any virus can potentially get viral meningitis at anytime. No need to freak out. #raley
