Reading 1 Kings 11 and asking myself, How can the wisest ruler of all history turn his back against the Giver of all things? King Solomon loved God and God appeared to Him twice. In order to hear from God, the normal citizen would have to speak to the prophet, but God spoke to Solomon. What got to Him was WOMEN! Yep, I said it. With 700 wives and 300 Concubines i feel safe to say that WOMEN got to Him. Women would did not have the same convictions as Him. Women who did not fear God and served other gods. Women who probably wanted a share in His wealth, only in it for security. I am not blaming those women. Even through it could have been a peace transaction with other nations, Solomon did not need to have that many women in His life. This was Solomons Kryptonite. This speaks to alot to Men that even the most wisest men can lay snare to his sin. Do not give your strength to Women (Proverbs 31) nor should you abdicate your role as the spiritual head. You can be full of wisdom yet lay snare to your own weakness. When placed in a tempting situation (maybe your alone with a girl) flee from it. When you are surfing the internet and your feel tempted, turn it off. Set boundaries so that you do not loose the fellowship of God.
