Reading a book was a comfort to me ever since I was young. Didnt - TopicsExpress

Reading a book was a comfort to me ever since I was young. Didnt have much so I borrowed books from friends and read them as fast as I could cause I had to return them right away (the library at school was full of everything but good stuff and the librarians were usually Madam Pince-like in nature). Then came the smartphones and, voila, I could read ebooks! Thus, the era of sleepless, reading nights continued. Until someone (ahem, Jasmine, hehehe..belated greetings girl!) introduced me again to printed books (reluctant at buying them at first but ended up bringing home 8 BOOKS from my first trip to NBS!). Theyre still worth the bucks! Well, so much for that, here are 10 books which have been a great part of me. 1. A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett - been one of my faves ever since. The story is so endearing and light and makes me feel wonderful every time I read it. 2. A Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett - yup, big fan of Burnett! Ive wanted my own garden ever since Ive read and watched this. :) 3. Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling - who doesnt know Harry? Ive read every single book for at least 5 times since high school and I always felt the same excitement. 4. Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll - Ive always been fascinated by the illustrations and the wonders of the story. Gave me a lot of work in the imagination department. :) 5. Rage of Angels by Sidney Sheldon - first ever book Ive read from his works. Loved the story and still cry every time I read. Became a Sheldon fan ever since. 6. If Tomorrow Comes by Sidney Sheldon - I so love Tracys part in the story and was so glad that Madolyn Smith Osborne portrayed the part well in the movie (yup, there are lots of Sheldon novels-turned-to-movies) 7. Master of the Game by Sidney Sheldon - did I mention hes my fave? Yet another loooong story from him, but so worth the time. Love the plot of the story, from Jamie, to Kate, to Tony, then to Alexandra & Eve. 8. Gullivers Travels by Jonathan Swift - loved reading storybooks in elementary and this is one of those stories that really stuck with me. I wondered then if there really was a Lilliput. The movie with Jack Black was a good laugh but the book was loads better. 9. The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory - the book that started my love for printed books again and King Henry VIII and the history of the English monarchy! Love her other works as well. 10. The Twilight Saga by Stephenie Meyer - It was kinda corny at first (Im a really big HP fan and I read this just to keep myself from reading HPPS for the nth time again after finishing HPDH) but then I learned to appreciate it and then loved it (the ending only sucked though :) ). And, of course, a story is much better when you have someone to share it and blush with, right sis Fritz? Its not really required but if you could, list 10 books that you feel have made an impact in you and tag 10 friends including me. Happy reading!
