Reading an interesting book – Creativity Inc. by Ed Catmull, co-founder of Pixar Animation Studios. Some good leadership and management insights: 1. Foster a creative culture that continually asks questions 2. Getting the right people and the right chemistry is more important than getting the right idea - the right people will eventually come up with a great idea 3. A companys communication structure should not mirror its organizational structure. Everybody should be able to talk to anybody 4. Hold lightly to goals and firmly to intentions 5. The future is not a destination, it is a direction 6. When it comes to creativity, the unknown is not our enemy 7. Think of most activities as teaching 8. Since change is inevitable, the question is: Do you act to stop it or do you become the master of change by accepting it and being open to it? 9. Dont confuse the process with the goal. Working on our processes to make them better, easier, and more efficient is an indispensable activity and something we should continually work on - but it is not the goal. Making the product great is the goal
