Reading from the book of Jeremiah this am and these are a few verses that spoke to me; Jeremiah 2:13 My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Jeremiah 2:26-29 “As a thief is disgraced when he is caught, so the people of Israel are disgraced— they, their kings and their officials, their priests and their prophets. 27 They say to wood, ‘You are my father,’ and to stone, ‘You gave me birth.’ They have turned their backs to me and not their faces; yet when they are in trouble, they say, ‘Come and save us!’ 28 Where then are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come if they can save you when you are in trouble! For you, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns. 29 “Why do you bring charges against me? You have all rebelled against me,” declares the Lord. We try to do things our own way and time and time again, we fail!! We pray, things get better, then before long its right back to doing it our way!!! God is not a jeanie in a bottle. He is our Heavenly Father who loves us! He deeply desires a relationship with us. Anything we put before Him is an idol. NOTHING can come before Him....not kids, not spouses, not family, not jobs or hobbies or anything else!! So please, as Matthew 6:33 says, seek God first and watch how things change. I was on that roller coaster for almost 16 years, but now I can finally see!! My life is still not perfect!! I still do things I shouldnt do and dont do things I should, but Ive learned to praise God and seek Him, no matter what the circumstances!!! Are u praising Him, even in the storms? Are u FULLY surrendered to His authority in ur life?? Is He LORD?
