Reading in Luke today, 15:11-32, about the prodigal son and his elder brother. Seems like, if you really look at it, they both wanted the same thing: to have things their own way and to be in control. Neither wanted the father - only what the father could give. The rebellious sinner came to his senses and saw who and what he was - self-righteous religion was too prideful. God loved them both - one saw his need - one saw himself as good. When we are looking to God - we see our need, when we compare ourselves to man - we seem good. Examine yourselves daily.
