Reading the ACC notes about 8 year Banshee, you wonder if they’re all looking at the same dog. Initially, the field person who brought him in said allowed all handling, did not show signs of aggression, jumped into the van willingly”. Then he got to his medical exam and he was not thrilled to be manhandled like that. And then after sitting in a cage at Brooklyn ACC 24 x 7, he really was upset when he started getting diarrhea all over the place—a guy’s got some pride after all! But look closely at his behavioral eval. He hated that hand trying to take his food away but look at the other items—Banshee absolutely aced all those items including that hard stare, the handling items, the dog on dog items. But ACC figures nobody would want this big older guy and they’ve put him on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Banshee needs that special person out there who reads all of those notes and realizes this is a good boy trying to make do in an awful situation. If you think you’re ready for a big strong smart boy, then start working with a rescue to foster or adopt Banshee. But it has to be right now—at noon tomorrow, Banshee will be so very happy to get out of that cage but he won’t realize until its too late that they’re taking him to that room from which no dog ever returns.
