Reading this just brought me to tears. Its an incredibly sad story, and one that happens often. When Brandon and I flew to the IACP Conference in September we chose to fly #Delta as we had such a horrible experience with #United back in May. Our Delta flights were fantastic. However, this story of #DeltaAirlines losing a dog is not a rare case. Over the last twenty years I have heard numerous stories all with the same results. Delta has quite the track record of killing and losing dogs. Please do your homework before putting your beloved canine companion on a flight. My advice, just dont do it. If you dont have a service dog that you could take on the plane with you, just drive. Its far too risky and just not worth putting them in cargo. The rate of death and loss are just too high in my opinion. Just drive with them wherever you plan on going.
