Reading this morning from Habakkuk 1-3 Habakkuk 1:12 Art thou not from everlasting, O LORD my God, mine Holy One? we shall not die. O LORD, thou hast ordained them for judgment; and, O mighty God, thou hast established them for correction. Habakkuk, in the previous verses had asked the question we hear from so many, Why is there so much evil in the world? In verse 12 he answers the question, thou hast ordained them for judgment. The sin of man has brought about the evil, the sickness, the earthly upheaval, God never intended this for His creation. He made man perfect and whole, gave him a beautiful place to live and all that he needed, but man has chosen to live in sin that violates Gods order. Then we have the audacity to ask God why do we suffer. We should answer with Habakkuk in 3:18 I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
