Reading through some heretical science, which today is any science that does not support the were-99%-of-the-way-to-conclusive-Theories-of-Everything dogmatism. Whats gotten into people? Why all this certainty and in every intellectual realm? Its like the Middle Ages. What Ive been reading these last several years casts doubt on everything from Big Bang Theory, to these bizarre notions of dark matter and dark energy (completely unknown, unverified, indescribable phenomena that only exist notionally in order to make Big Bang work) to our ideas about some of the fundamentals of physics. Question any of the modern doctrine and the response is often as vicious and overwrought as if it was 1100 AD and you expressed doubt about the divinity of Jesus. Dear God, dont EVER question doctrinaire Evolution. In the course of defending science, scientists, and I F*cking Love Science types have turned science into its own new fundamentalist religion. Curiously, at the same time I dont think people have ever known LESS about science (and nearly anything else). Maybe thats the problem. Maybe if people knew more theyd appreciate the need for keeping an open mind.
