Real Madrid and Croatia midfielder Luka Modric has been ruled out for up to 12 weeks with a thigh injury. He suffered the injury in a EURO 16 qualifier between Croatia and Italy in Milan which ending in a 1-1 draw. The midfielder complained about left thigh muscle problem in the first half of the match and was therefore ultimately substituted. Modric flied back to Madrid training camp on Monday in order to run MRI scans and to diagnose the injury. It was then revealed that he tore a muscle in his left thigh. Real Madrid officially confirmed the extent of the injury. The statement by Real Madrid also revealed that operation will not be needed and that he will be treated by conservative methods.
