Realesed in Oct 2000 Stories from the city.... is Miss PJ Harveys 5th studio album, and my first. PJ is such a little pocket rocket of singing power, i was almost disappointed i hadnt discovered her earlier. Bought in conjunction with Jamiroquais A funk odessy (dont judge me), this album has been played over and over, at the best of times at the worst of times, it has inspired some of my paintings, and kept stragglers from house parties company over many a night. From the beginning with big exit PJ opens the album with confidence, and follows with the well known good fortune. Track 6 is up there with my favourite songs of all, and being a sucker for a duet, track 7 (with some help from thom yorke) doesnt disappoint.
