Reality really hit hard today. Just received my ETS orders (end time in service) today. On one hand I have done my part and served my country proudly and will forever be a combat veteran. I have been making progress in my transition for a while now and have things going for me in the civillian life. On the other, it is all I have known since I was 17 years old. When I joined the army in 2008, I was not a good kid, and was heading down the wrong path. I feel that the United States Army saved my life, and made me the man I am today. Every person I see wearing the uniform automatically seems like family to me right off the bat. I cant help but feel like I am turning my back on my brothers and sisters of the united states army by walking away. It is a scary, and heart wrenching feeling to leave such an amazing and crucial part of my life behind. But it is time to press on. To my brothers and sisters that I served beside, it was an honor and a privilege, and I want to thank you all for shaping me into a man. To my friends and family thank you for supporting me through this wild ride, you guys are amazing. PARDUE OUT P.S. HOOAH!
