Really enjoying the Apple TV. Just watched the final two episodes of Treme using the iPad and the HBO GO app to stream it to the flat-screen. And this weekend, just using the Apple TVs built in Netflix software, I binge-watched the first season of Gillian Andersons series THE FALL (liked it OK) and sampled the Jon Hamm/Daniel Radcliffe comedy series A Young Doctors Notebook (meh). Both means of getting programs -- either straight to the Apple TV box or using the iPad as a go-between -- are faster than trying to stream video on the laptop. I havent set up the blu-ray yet -- maybe in a few minutes -- but Ill be interested in seeing if it adds some more network options to the mix beyond what I have with the Apple TV (ABC, PBS) and what I have on the iPad (HBO GO, Max GO, EPIX -- which was how I watched Kirk & Co. earlier -- and Weather Channel content, plus a bunch of sports channels that Ill never use). Not quite the same as if we actually had access to cable in the dorm, but its progress of a sort.
