Really excellent interview of Bill by Alice Gerrard for Ralph Rinzler in 1969. Alice had a way of setting Bill at ease so he would speak more candidly than normal about his family, life on the farm, and his early years. Here is also interesting insight into his distinctions about blues and lonesomeness, which he speaks about as two different things. Check this out. Lots of great information about the Monroe family farm scene, and also Bill talks quite a bit about Uncle Pen.
