Really excited to find this place today- I knew it was in Coleraine for a while, and havent really been too bothered for a number of reasons. Until (engage coffee geek mode) I saw in the window that they actually make a point of telling you what machines they use to make their coffee (I know, I know....). They know what beans they use, where the come from, how theyre roasted, how theyre ground, and they dont sell lattes. Plus the staff are nice, and actually proud of what they do. One of about 2 places on the North Coast, and even most of Northern Ireland that dont serve over extracted, burnt, awful coffee- be it filter, espresso, cappucino,,whatever. This place is the other end of the scale in quality and concern, and might even be overkill for some people- there is a happy medium where a coffee shop could just learn to dial in the machine they have, and not be so damned tight with the beans. But for me, I love all the art and gadgetry of the thing. And thats before Ive even started on the food menu, the cool interior, and the bread FFS! Cant wait to get back!
