Really exciting news this weekend for you all! On Saturday October 25th London theatre company IMMERSION THEATRE will be bringing their critically acclaimed production of Shakespeares THE TAMING OF THE SHEW to Stanwix Theatre! Set in London during the swinging 60s when much of London was dominated by the Kray Twins; this pacey, inventive production enters the criminal underworld and tells the tale of ‘wildcat’ Kate and her ‘tamer’, Petruchio. Suitors from three criminal dynasties arrive at the house of gangland boss Baptisa Minola to woo, wed and bed his wealthy daughters. The eldest, Kate is as headstrong and disagreeable as the youngest Bianca is seemingly desirable. Baptista has sworn not to allow the youngest to marry before Katherine is wed, much to the despair of Bianca’s suitors. Cue a riotous, testosterone-fuelled struggle for power, money, equality and love; culminating in a monumental shift in character, for both sisters. The cast are electric in their delivery of this production where Quadrophenia meets the Krays. Packed with humour, chemistry and insight, the story remains as relevant and thought- provoking as ever.
