Really feel that it is time to update everyone on why I continue to be in the US for as long as I have been. This is the longest stretch of time I have spent here in over 3 years. I was diagnosed with Chikungunya virus (see link here cdc.gov/chikungunya/index.html ) I am over the symptoms, but have had two relapses. I do wake up every morning with severe joint pain and stiffness. I also have some other lingering symptoms. In addition our biggest clinic we were working on was overtaken by someone we trusted as a partner. A US organization that has a history of this. We have chosen not to fight this as they do have more funds available than we do and it will be good for the people of Haiti. It is not about me or Missionarian, and never was. It is a stab in the back, but we are allowing it and have told the Bishop to go ahead. We have asked for some equipment back, and await an answer from the Bishop. As of yet no answer. Our other clinic at Bon Samaritan was also closed in my absence, due to politics and power. We are currently in negotiation on this one and changing its future so keep that in prayer. I will be leading short term medical teams into Haiti to work in rural villages in the near future. I currently do have teams booked and will continue to be a part of Haitis future. Due to some stresses and things at an administrative level we will be taking some time to regroup Missionarian. Please keep this organization in your prayers as we go through this time. The trips I will be leading will be under myself and not our organization. I will also be working in the US while here recovering. I am trying to catch up on items that have been neglected while in Haiti. I thank you for your prayers. If you are donating through Missionarian to our work there we will be no longer accepting funds at this time. We are asking you to donate to other Organizations in Haiti such as Footprints of the Son and NEHLM. I will be paying for my own work there while we are reorganizing our work.
