Really, human society is simply a shared agreement field. When we agree on how we will behave in relationship with one another, we form a human community. When we disagree on how we will behave in relationship with one another, we experience conflict. How many of our existing agreements (rules, laws, traditions, codes of conduct, conditionings, habits, etiquettes) have we examined and found useful, and how many are holdouts from eras long gone, that no longer serve our current situation? Consider your own agreements and ask yourself this: how many have you consciously examined and are choosing to keep, and how many are mere conventions that others have imposed upon you without your consent, and without your conscious and willing understanding that this is how you truly wish to be?
