Really interesting today listening to all the talking heads on the prerace show giving their personal opinions as to whether or not Brad Keselowski did anything wrong in going all out for the win last week at Texas, and other drivers reactions to his going all out. I still contend that the are ALL missing the main point. Heck, I wouldnt want a driver in my car who wouldnt go for an opening and go for the win in that situation. What I have issue with is the tire slicer at the rear of the rocker panel area which is is NOT allowed, but which NASCAR has been turning a blind eye to. That thing caused Gordons cut tire and was really what caused the whole issue last week. Those little air dams being bent into the body work on first pit stop every week have caused numerous tire issues in the latter part of this season. I noticed during yesterdays Nationwide event that the bends were not nearly as noticeable on the majority of cars in the field ... but, on one particular car it looked like a 90 degree bend out and up, resulting in a pointed sharp end sticking outward ... on the #22 Discount Tire car. It will be interesting to see how many are using the manually bent combination air dam/tire slicer in todays Sprint Cup event, and what role that might end up playing in the race outcome and/or in the Chase.
