Reaping Verse for Today: Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17 & 18 ... the prophet spends most of his book arguing with God over His ways that he cant comprehend - as a human being, Habakkuk feels his Gods ways are unjust and often cruel. But after receiving 2 patient responses from God, the prophet has an epiphany and issues a beautiful confession of faith, of which this passage is the summary; even though things appear to be infinitely unpleasant and desolate in any of our lives, it is crucial to trust that God has the perfect solution and will bestow it IF WE HAVE FAITH! His time and ours are completely converse -- we are impatient with the passing of a minute without change while Gods minute could translate to a week or year. For 3 years, negative, horrible things rained down on my family and I, but I believed there was something coming (not always - I cried alot! but immediately got back on track, hard as it was!) ... the gray skies are clearing up for sure. Trust Him... Father indeed knows best!
