The internet has allowed individuals in countries thousands of miles apart to communicate quickly and easily. Commerce is no longer hindered by domestic boundaries, but operates across distance, culture, and language. Thus, it is paramount that Americans like their counterparts in other countries, recognize the importance of globalization and prepare our students accordingly. Young people who appreciate cultural differences, speak a second language, and have experience building relationships with those from foreign nations have a distinct advantage in their professional endeavors.
