Reason Fayose will win Ekiti- He capped it by linking the dual carriageway to Ikere Ekiti. The reconstruction and asphalt overlaying of the 17.5kilometreAramoko-Erinjiyan-Ikogosi Road and the rehabilitation of the 29 kilometreIkere-Ogbese-Ise-EmureRoad.Others included the construction and asphalting of the 120kilometreIkere-IgbaraOdo Road; the completion of Ijan-Igbemo Ire-Ilupeju Road; the rehabilitation of 23 kilometreIkole-IjesaIsu-Iluomoba Road, and the construction and asphalting of 14.6 kilometreAwo-Eyio-Esure-Ifaki Road; the rehabilitation of 11kilometreIgogo-Otun Ekiti Road to mention but a few. In the area of housing and social infrastructure, the administration of Fayoseput this all-important sector on the front burner. His administration embarked on some legacy projects inherited by the current administration of Governor KayodeFayemi. Some of the projects in this sector included theconstruction of an international standard Trade Fair Complex and ultra-modern hall, completion of the new Governor’s Office, the first of its kind in the whole country. The Fayoseadministration equally constructed two modern presidentiallodges and chalets within the Government House; the construction of a banquet hall and chapel inside the Government House; the construction of Fountain Motel Complex; construction of 100 units of 2-bedroom flats each along the Housing Estate,Ikere Ekiti. The same housing estate project was replicated at AfaoRoad,vAdo Ekiti and also the rehabilitation of Ajilosun slum into an ultra-modern shopping complex, where no fewer than 400 lock -up shops were constructed. It is on record that the Afao Ekiti-born businessman-cum-politician recorded these feats without borrowing a dime from any bank or through bond. He was also not involved in any external borrowing. He ensured the prudent management of the state’s scare resources at that material time.
