Rebekkah Avraham It is all poetic imagery... In Gen. 3:13-19 is the account of the serpent that deceived Chava/Eve. The Hebrew word translated as serpent is Nâchâsh. (nKHÂSH) It means: whisper, enchanter, SPIRIT, as in the Spirit of Jealousy, the Spirit of Pride, the Spirit of Greed, etc. Chava submitted to the... Lust of the eye... This fruit looks good! Lust of the flesh... Oh, I bet it tastes good too! The pride of life... I can be as smart as our Creator! When our Father said On your BELLY you shall go! He meant that you will be forced to eat for survival! He then looks at Adam and says By the sweat of your brow shall you eat/feed her! (Gen. 3:19) Abba said And dirt you shall eat! (vs 14) Do snakes eat dirt? NO! But humans Bite the dust...die! FOR DUST YOU ARE, AND TO DUST SHALL YOU RETURN! (vs 19) People assume that snakes used to walk before this incident. Wouldnt they need another leg? Snakes never walked upright. By (in Hebrew: Itzavon) back-breaking labour, did they eat from that moment on! Before that, they were immortal. Immortals have no need to eat for survival, they did it for pleasure. Take control of the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. All will cause you to fall. All sin stems from these.
