Rebirth, O Nigeria! I Why sit as if the world does not - TopicsExpress

Rebirth, O Nigeria! I Why sit as if the world does not exists Just because you chose to be What you are and where you are? Why watch the time tick away Focusing on how others spend their own time? II You need not live this life Or any life at all because it is more miserable To live your own life In the shadows of those who are truly living! III See for yourself, the figure; A listless forlorn of your true self beaten and battered, by you! IV Yea you, because it is only you Who can inflict as much pains, On your resilient self. V Be broken and shattered into pieces Be gone from sensibility to ineptness From creativity to incredulity Yours would be reckoned tomorrow; A failed potential that refused to be born VI Break forthwith and without You have stayed too long Within liquor laden amnions Drinking your own excrement Gliding in the warm dark wombs VII Dark wombs, of treacherous men Who would rather you aged with Wharton jelly Than feel the true warmth from the sunlight VIII They would rather you perceive the heat, spewing from their gutter-like labia Than to have a sense of illumination The world outside affords! IX Be born a True Giant Come not with thy head, less it be crushed Stamp thy feet to part the way In the event that you may rent the V-door! X It is a new day, a new dawn The sun is about rising O, it just did! Look up with me and see; Her many rays breaking through the eastern sky A harbinger of new hope XI Ditch your frailty and fears Embrace your inner might and courage Test the new waters with you front foot Launch, launch again and re-launch your whole self, whole heartedly Into the game of life! XII You are never down, you only never did border to rise Never a forerunner of your own life; Daily, that is what you should be! XIII Say to the past, your past “be gone, because you are only my past” Then face your demon, yourself Your very tomorrow and be born again! XIV Nigeria, hear my prayer I pray And be reborn, a New Nation Just …by all means, be reborn Rebirth thy self and live! (c) Babalola Ibisola VABI.
