Recap: Me at 10 pm on the phone in my car talking to Alan Hauser - why do I have a phone full of missed calls and texts about Paige Steele Hauser? Alan - I dont know. Me - why is she calling/texting me and not the parent who is home? Alan - I dont know. Me - walk in the door 10:37ish pm. Jumped by teen before I get to the kitchen. Paige - mom can I stay out at Abbys? We want to have a sleepover on a school night. Me - Paige, your dad is in a chair 10 ft from you. Paige - yah he said to ask you. Me - I dont care. GO. (10 mins later) where is Dummy (I mean Demi)? Alan - I dont know, shes around here somewhere. **spend the next 10 - 20 minutes in increasing panic looking for my cat. Every light in the house on and heading for the neighborhood with flashlights.*** Alan on phone with Paige - you let the cat out. You need to come home and help find her. Paige pulls up out front - I didnt let the cat out dad did. Alan - no I didnt. I wasnt here I went fishing. ***after panic! cat emerges from upstairs obviously sleepy and annoyed.**** Finally get to go to bed and notice there is a laundry boulder the size of Mt Vesuvius exploded all over the upstairs bathroom. Carry that down in the morning. Stumble over the dog who is confused at the empty bowl where her breakfast should be. Alan - yah she is out if food. I borrowed a cup from Collin Hauser last night. Me - k. Think ya cud pick some up today or we cud just put Josie on the curb with her suitcases? Alan - what kind? ***you see....Josies still new here after 11 yrs and only I know what she eats.**** Go into the kitchen to make my blessed cup of coffee. Me - how are we out of all my creamer?! Alan - Paige accidentally dumped it into her smoothie-thing thinking it was sugar. I could keep going, but its time for me to start the whole thing over again for Friday and Im pretty sure SOME living thing in this house: needs, has broken, has lost, or has excremented SOMETHING only mom can handle!
