Recd from my friend Sri Ramettan. T. Satisan All the deities in Hinduism are symbolic. In counting the trees many people miss the forest. Few people are ready to accept that the ten headed Ravana was a real person. Evil has ten heads is the real message. In ancient Hindu literature, exaggeration was the norm. The surrealists and existentialist litterateurs of modern times do similar depictions. Sri Krishna had 160008 wives !!? Vishnu sleeps on Anantha in an ocean of milk !!? Each and every thing in our puranas are symbolic and exagerrations. Sri.M.T.Vasudevan Nair had done research on Mhabharatham for writing his book Randamoozham, the story of Bhima. He says our ancient writers always exaggerated. For saying many people they will write thousands of people. Like that in each step. We should use our discrimination to discern the truth. One who reads the Arabian night stories knows that these are just the imagination of the writer and not real life stories. According to Garga Bhagavatham, Radha and Krishna are the eternal couple and they live in Golokam outside our Brahmandam. And according to this Mahavishnu who resides in Vaikundham is created from one strand of hair of Lord Krishna. When Mahavishnu took avatar as Krishna in Vrajam Radha also took birth as the daughter of Vrishaparva in Vrajam. After fulfilling the purpose of incarnation, both He and Radha goes back to Golokam. Strangely Vyasa Bhagavan does not mention even Radhas name in Bhagavatha puranam. Also there is no mention of Golokam. According to Vyasa Bhagavan, Mahavishnu is the Paramapurushan and Krishna is the paripoorna avataram of Mahavishnu.
