Receipts. When my mail was delivered to me today - there were a few items. But two items of note showed up. Firstly, I had ordered two absolutely stunning posters from Vistaprint - and they were delivered - 24 X 36 each - and were as awesome as I thought that they would be. The detail in the photos is amazing - right down to the crack in a wall in the background. I thought that perhaps the poster had been somehow damaged, but, no - the detail is just that fine. Crystal clear. The second item of note was a bill from my Doctors office (actually their billing agent) for an appointment that I had in September. They are saying that I still owe them the co-payment for my visit, but I suspected that this was not true. I went to my checkbook, and saw that, yes, I had paid on that day - for the full amount. But that (an entry in my checkbook), is, not necessarily proof. I could have just written it down - and not actually done it. I then remembered that I could check my receipts. Since the beginning of the year, I have been saving all of my receipts (the vast majority) for all of my transactions. I went into the September file - and about a minute later - found the receipt. The irrefutable proof. I did make the co-payment. I have the hard-copy of the receipt proving it. Its nice to not have to worry about calling my bank (where I had just closed my checking acccount) to try to dig up a copy of an electronic debit transaction. I knew that saving all of my receipts would pay off someday - and, today, it did.
