Received a phone call after midnight saying Maddie was having trouble keeping her oxygen level up & they were gonna give her oxygen and see how that went. Less than 45 minutes later we got another phone call saying they had to put the breathing tube back in her. She regurgitated her milk during a feed and aspirated it (it went into her lung). The neurosurgeon said this episode had nothing to do with her bleed and has a repeat MRI scheduled for Wednesday. (As previously planned) On Friday they will do an upper gi X-ray to see about the reflux issue and sometime in the beginning of next week she will be having a nissen procedure and they will place a feeding tube. The feeding tube is not a permanent thing. Maddie will continue her therapy for swallowing and sucking when the breathing tube is taken out. (Hopefully that will be Wednesday) They say sometimes you take two steps forward just to take one back while you are in the nicu. Our little girl has proven herself to be a fighter and will continue to do so. Thank you everyone for the continued prayers and kind words!
