Received a very nice phone call from a family today, he was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam, and also a helicopter pilot for the CHP, until BAM! He was diagnosed with cancer and had to retire. Now, even tho the vet is now paralyzed on his left side due to his cancer (brain), and he is not able to move much, his wife, whom is also disabled can hardly care for him herself, I did speak to both today, and afterwards, I left a message with our local VSO (Veterans Service Officer) here in Ventura County, besides calling our local Congresswoman here, I was told today, that now, the VA has put coordinators in VA offices throughout Calif. to assist veterans with their claims, and also assist those who have been F*****D around by the VA, for things as what this veteran is being denied, his cancer due to agent orange, and the VA has even said he is 100% disabled from this disease. BUT! His cancer was not caused by agent orange? But, the paperwork from the VA does not lie, its the smucks in the office that lie! Holy smoke grenade, so the Congresswomans office not only contacted a Congress persons office in Calif., but also is contacting the local VSO in Calif. I just now received a phone call from this veterans wife (5:50 PM), and she had just been contacted by our own VSO here in Ventura County and they were told to not only tell me, but told the family that the person in charge of our local VSO here in Ventura would be calling them after the 22nd of this month, as he is out of office? Hey, thats fine with me, at least the ball is rolling, and there is hope and the family can at least know that they wont be F****D around any longer by the VA!!!!!!! Thanks Congresswoman Julia Brownley and VSO Mike McManus! You ROCK!!!!!!!!
